Brepi app
Čeština · English · Slovenčina
Effective 21 May 2026

This policy explains how the Brepi app (the "app") handles personal data. The app is an educational tool for preschool and early school-age children. It is designed to be set up and used by an adult (a parent or legal guardian) together with the child.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Radim Sekera, an individual, contact e-mail sekera.radim@gmail.com.

2. Who the app is for

The app is set up by an adult. By creating a child profile and using the app, the parent confirms they are authorized to consent to the processing of the child's data. The app can also be used without registering an account (guest mode) — in that case all data stays only on the device and is not sent anywhere except as described in sections 5 and 6.

3. What data we process

3.1 Data stored on the device

3.2 Data when registering an account (optional)

4. Story narration

The app can read the story text aloud (narration feature). The text-to-speech conversion runs on a secure server — only the story text (generated by AI) is sent, never any personal data about the child. The app does not record the child's voice and does not require microphone access.

5. AI-generated stories

Stories for reading are generated by a language model from Anthropic. The app sends only the topic and difficulty parameters — the child's name is not sent to the AI; if it appears in a story, it is inserted afterwards directly on the device.

6. Third parties and processors

The app uses the following service providers, which may receive data to the extent necessary for the respective feature to work:

These providers may process data on servers outside the Czech Republic, and possibly outside the EU. We recommend reviewing their own privacy policies as well.

7. What we do not do

8. Notifications

The app may show practice reminders. These are local notifications generated on the device; they can be turned off in the app or device settings.

9. Data retention and deletion

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify or erase your data, to restrict processing, to object, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at the e-mail above.

11. Children and parental consent

The app is intended for children but is operated and configured by an adult. Processing of a child's data is based on the consent of the parent or legal guardian, given by creating a profile and using the app. We process children's data in line with the GDPR (including child-protection rules under Art. 8) and, where applicable, with children's privacy rules in other jurisdictions (such as COPPA in the USA). Consent can be withdrawn at any time by deleting the account (see section 9).

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will announce material changes in the app or by updating the effective date shown above.
